Ms. Gloria, Parenting and Family Fun Financial Literacy Expert
Creator, Owner & CEO
As a mother, educator, and former owner and director of several childcare centers for over 30 years, I have observed a decline in children's emotional and social development, as well as a lack of financial literacy. I created Character Avenue and Piggy Bank Tutor to address the gap in financial literacy and foster parental social interaction which promotes brain development in young children. Strong families and financial literacy contribute to thriving communities. The next generation depends on today's actions!
Awareness of societal issues today keeps me motivated to make an impact. Making a difference, begins in the home. Parents will always be parents, but parenting is a seasonal role, and if missed, there are no second chances. Parental engagement promotes early brain development in young children, and starting early teaching kids about money can help young children learn healthy financial habits that will last a lifetime. I am committed and motivated to uplifting children and their families.
Character Avenue is certified WBE/MBE.
Growing up in the 1960's, my parents instilled in their six children the gift of love, respect, responsibility, kindness... and family time. Even though my family experienced hardships, struggles and sickness, my parents taught us faith and perseverance. To support the family, our father tirelessly worked odd jobs and our mother became the neighborhood babysitter. She shared her love and opened our home to so many young children.
As role models, my parent's entrepreneurial spirit and endearing family values planted the creation of Character Avenue.
