WHY CHARACTER AVENUE
Gloria Mansfield, Ms. Gloria, The Parenting Mom, is a mother, educator, and former owner and director of several childcare centers. She is an advocate for parents, particularly Millennial and Gen Z parents, and is committed to uplifting them, their children, and their families.
With over 30 years of experience serving parents and their children in the childcare industry, Ms. Gloria observed firsthand the emotional and social decline of both children and their parents, as well as a lack of financial education.
Awareness of these issues inspired her to create Character Avenue (parent company) and Piggy Bank Tutor to help parents "Refresh the Joy of Parenting" through insightful and supportive parenting resources, practical character education, and family-fun financial literacy products and events that foster family time connections.
Her goal is to encourage parents to be present in their parenting and to bring families and communities together by creating fun and meaningful opportunities for family time that teach vital life skills, stimulate brain development, and strengthen family bonds.

my INSPIRATION: Humble beginnings
Growing up in the 1960s, my parents instilled in their six children the gift of love, respect, responsibility, kindness... and family time.
Though my family faced hardships, struggles, and illnesses, my parents taught us the importance of faith and perseverance. Our father worked tirelessly at odd jobs to support the family, and our mother became the neighborhood babysitter. She shared her love and opened our home to so many young children.
As role models, my parents' entrepreneurial spirit and endearing family values planted the creation of Character Avenue.
